Christine’s passion for art began during a childhood visit to the home of American landscape painter Frederic Church in Hudson, New York, leading her to enrolled in art classes at age 7. She later earned a B.A. in Visual Art from UMBC. Today, Christine primarily works with acrylics, watercolor, and ceramics, but also enjoys photography, wood burning, needle felting, embroidery, and fiber arts.
As a frequent visitor to Upstate New York, Christine has had a lifelong attachment to the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley. Her artwork is inspired by wandering upstate, architecture, history, nature, religion, and the whimsy of childhood.
As for the name, her grandparents lived in Hudson, NY and would take her “overstreet,” to shop in the heart of the historic city.
